
While iPod is great for downloading your favorite tunes, it has other uses from music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, audiobooks, games and as a PDA for storing your contacts, calendar events, and to-do lists.
To import calendar events, contacts, or your to-do lists using a Mac and iSync:
1. Connect your iPod to your computer
2. Before you can use iSync with your iPod you need to open iSync, click Devices, then Add Device
3. Select iPod and click Sync Now
iSync transfers information from iCal and Address Book to your iPod. The next time you want to sync your iPod, you can just open iSync and click Sync Now. You can also have iPod sync automatically when you connect it.
If you are using Windows or if you don't want to use iSync, you can transfer contacts, calendar events and to-do lists to your iPod manually by enabling your iPod as a hard disk.
To enable iPod as a hard disk:
1. Connect your iPod to your computer
2. Open iTunes
3. Select iPod in the Source list and click the Options button
4. Select Enable disk use
When you use iPod as a hard disk, the iPod disk icon appears on your desktop on the Mac, or as the next available drive letter in Windows Explorer on a Windows PC.
To import contact information manually:
1. Connect your iPod to your computer
2. Open your email or contacts application.
3. Click and drag contacts from the application address book to the iPod Contacts folder.
To import appointments and other calendar events manually:
1. Export calendar events from any calendar application that uses the standard iCalendar (.ics) format or vCal (.vcs) format
2. Click and drag the files to the Calendars folder on your iPodr> ** You can only transfer to-do lists to iPod using iSync and iCal<
To view contacts on your iPod:
1. Click Extras, then select Contacts

To view calendar events on your iPod:
1. Select Extras then select Calendar
