No need to fret this Valentine's Day if your pocket are just a little shallow. There are plenty of ways to show your love, and many of them are free or cost very little but still say "you're special." You'll be surprised at how romantic you can be with just the things you have around the house. If not, why not pick up a basic basket filled with all the necessities.
My all time favorite is to draw a bath and fill the water with fragrant bath salts and bubbles. For added delight a message oil that dissolves in the water is a plus. Lite scented candles, put them somewhere safe where they won't fall over. A glass of wine to sip on while relaxing is so soothing.Jar candles are excellent for this. If you don't have scented candles, spraying some of your sweetie's favorite perfume around the room. Sensuous fragrances really set the mood.
After the bath, lay a towel or bath blanket on the bed and give a little message. Be sure to play soft music, lower the lights and let the fun begin.
Another favorite of mine is to prepare home cooked food or order prepared snacks, chocolates, strawberries, or take out, then sit in front of a warm fire watching a love story or listening to mood music. Sometimes, just putting your snacks on a bed table and crawling into bed, pop in your special DVD and a bottle of wine to sip on is more sexy. Do you have digital photos? Why not turn them into photo cards or post cards and reminiscence.
Hand written poems or a hand written coupon to be used on demand have a way of lingering. Place your poem or coupon against a wine glass or in front of dessert.
